Wood Restoration in San Francisco & the Bay Area
Strip finishes from decks, beams, log homes and siding — when the wood can take it.
Wood is the one surface we're most careful with. Soft media (walnut shell, corn cob or fine glass) at low pressure can lift old stain and paint from dense timber, beams and some siding without chewing the grain.
If the only media aggressive enough to remove the coating will also damage the wood, we'll say so and point you toward sanding or chemical stripping instead.
Common wins: exposed beams and trusses, log and timber homes, heavy decking, barn siding and fences.
Good for
- Exposed beams and trusses
- Log and timber homes
- Heavy decks and fences
- Barn and shop siding
How the job goes
- Test patch on an inconspicuous spot
- Soft-media blast
- Light sand if required
- Ready for stain or sealer
Questions about wood restoration
Will blasting raise the grain?
Some. Soft media minimizes it, and a light sanding pass before finishing takes care of the rest.
